As a graduate student, Iryna was no stranger to college and all of the studying that came along with it. However..she was now a graduate student, which meant that she now had to tackle even more schooling. It was all worth it though, as she knew that she needed a master's degree in order to stand a chance in the career that she wanted to go into. Though one could obtain a bachelor's degree in Social Work (and Iryna had), it was hard to find any decent jobs with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree was all but required in order to actually establish oneself as a social worker. Actually, the same could be said for both her major and minor in undergrad..but she'd intended to go to grad school all along, so she supposed that it all evened out.
Iryna planned on doing a bit of research for a paper that she had to write at the library. She might even wind up writing a bit of it while she was there, depending on how much information she found. Unlike many college students, Iryna wasn't very big on procrastination. Perhaps she might have been had she grown up under different circumstances, but as the oldest child with two working parents, Iryna was often expected to look after her siblings in addition to her own schoolwork (and work later on, though at least by the time she was old enough to work her siblings were starting to get older themselves). That meant squeezing in her schoolwork when she could, which meant not leaving her schoolwork until the last minute unless she wanted to risk not getting it done at all.
As she reached the library, she frowned, noting that most of the computers were taken. Even worse, some were merely using the computers to play games from what she could see..which she found somewhat frustrating, but she wasn't particularly one for speaking up in such instances. So long as it wasn't actively hurting anyone..she could wait for a computer to open up. A vastly different reaction than she might have had if someone else needed to use those computers..she found it difficult to stand up for herself, but a lot easier to do so for others.
As she made it closer, she realized that she wouldn't have had to ask anyone anyway..there was one open computer left! Iryna smiled and approached it at once. "You don't mind if I use this computer, I hope?" She spoke to the person nearest her, hoping that the seat in question wasn't reserved for someone else. It didn't look like it, judging by the fact that no one was currently logged in the computer, but Iryna still wanted to be polite nevertheless
