His wings carried him effortlessly through the air, gliding like an arrow over the vast expanse of trees of the Faedor forest. Windless days were the best for flying, and today he was in no hurry to be anywhere of note. Rather, it was days such as these that he took the liberty of venturing out of his cavern for a hunt or an exploration of nearby lands (though by now, it was less of an exploration than an update on new settlements). It had been awhile since he'd last seen these parts of the woods. The route he habitually took to Geragon's lair was one which extended westward from his own place, and anything west of that had gone ignored for a long, long while. Unfortunately, it would seem that his friend (slash reluctant host) was occupied with something-or-other, as there was no one to be found in the cavern. A great pity indeed, and Mihai had browsed around the dragon's place and come away with a pretty piece of jewelry as compensation for his troubles (not that he expected to get away with it for long–Geragon would figure out who it was that seized part of his hoard soon enough). Having failed to find who he'd deemed to make his primary entertainment for the day, however, he was left with time to kill, which he did by wandering farther out into Geragon's territory.
In all honesty, there was little change in his nearby surroundings. Woods were just woods, after all, and it seemed that they were relatively unoccupied by other creatures, which made sense considering it was de facto Geragon's territory. That was the reason he found his curiousity piqued by a thin column of smoke rising over the treetops. Traveling humans, perhaps? Or even knights? A forest incendiary of sorts? Well, if it were the former, he would gladly take care of them for Geragon. With a bat of his wings, he veered off course from the circles he'd been flying and glided towards the smoke.
What he found at its source was slightly surprising: a small wooden cabin, positioned in the clearing, and from the looks of the freshly-dug earth around it, quite new as well. He wondered when Geragon had taken in a new tenant, as surely an unauthorized cabin built in an oft-passed area would have caught the dragon's eye, and he rarely liked intrusions. Mihai circled the clearing a few times, disturbing the column of smoke, and waited to see if someone would come out of the house. When no one did, he slowed his momentum until he descended onto the forest floor.
The cabin was not grandiose by any definition of the word–in fact, Mihai felt as though he could curl his entire body around it should he wish to, but he'd eaten on his way to Geragon's lair, and the entirety of the cow still sat heavily in his stomach. Besides, the cabin had a curious scent to it. It smelled human... but not entirely. It was probably a mixed-blood who lived here, though he couldn't place what else the human was mixed with. That (along with his lack of other entertainment) was sufficient reason for him to linger and attempt to peer inside the tiny structure. Surely that there was smoke rising from the chimney meant that there was someone home, unless they'd been irresponsible enough to leave their hearth going while they were out. Mihai huffed at the thought, a bit of smoke escaping between rows of his fangs. Humans were delicate enough creatures as they were, and very flammable too. Leaving a fire unattended would be ill-advised. Despite the lack of apparent movement from within, however, he did eventually come upon an open window, and without much regard for the occupant's privacy, he nosed the curtains aside and peered in.

Smiling to himself, Francis hung up his clothes in the little closet he had. He didn’t have much in the way of clothing, but he was a simple Halfling. It was actually quite a good thing, as most of his work was dirty business, and with few clothes, he could have most of them set for work, with a few left for occasions when he needed to meet with others of his kind. Sometimes it was handy growing up not having much, it left him more appreciative of those things he did have. When has younger, he had envied those other elves; but looking at where his life was now, he was happy. Yes he lived a quant life, odd since he was under dragon protection, but he got to live in peace and continue his work without disturbances that came with everyday life elsewhere.
As the last shirt was hung up, his stomach growled, letting him know that it was past time for lunch. Heading out to the main room to fix himself lunch, he froze as his eyes scanned the room and there was a large dragon nose in his window. Slightly scared, he walked over gently to as not disturb the dragon’s maw. Opening the door carefully, he peaked out, only letting a small amount of his head face show through the gap in the door. It wasn’t Gergon based on the coloring alone, but he had no idea who this dragon was, nor what its intentions were.
"Something I can help you with, your Dragon-ness?"
He really needed to ask his friend how to address other dragons, especially if new ones with different temperaments showed up. Especially ones that hadn’t promised to not eat him.
"I’m still learning Dragon healing, but ill do my best if you’re injured."

Movement in the house. His sense of smell and hearing were better than a human’s–well, better than that of many creatures, actually–and they told him all he needed to know. He pulled his nose out of the window as the front door creaked open, revealing an apprehensive face that peered out at him. It looked human–hair on his head, breakable skin, eyes with round pupils–but he didn’t completely smell it. That fact was even more distinct now that he was but a couple meters away from Mihai’s face. He sure acted human though, if that frightened peeking were any indication. Humans were one of the most skittish creatures the dragon had ever known.
He let out a low, grumbling laugh. ”Don’t worry, I’ve already eaten,” he hissed, using the human tongue, though he didn’t think his word was going to offer much comfort. It rarely did, even though he meant it. If he were hungry, they wouldn’t even get the benefit of his reassurance before being… unable to receive any more reassurance at all, to put it lightly. Disregarding the man’s offer (and obvious nervousness at being approached by a dragon), he ambled closer instead, eyes bright with curiosity as he studied him. The man didn’t look remarkable in any way; he might be pretty by human standards, but this was not the ‘type’ of mate that Drabe’druh would be after. He didn’t look particularly useful for anything else either, not precisely having the physique of anyone that might say ‘hunter’ or ‘fighter.’ ”I didn’t know Drabe’druh was keeping any petssss.”

“Don’t worry, I’ve already eaten”That actually was a comfort to him, for if he wasn’t hungry, he shouldn’t be eaten, and especially that he wasn’t planning on attacking the dragon. Moving a bit more confidently now, he bowed to the dragon, curious as to who this was. He didn’t think his dragon protector had friends, but, he also didn’t know much about him to be honest. ”I didn’t know Drabe’druh was keeping any petssss.”Looking a bit confused at first as he didn’t know who Drabe’druh was, he finally reasoned out he could only mean Gergon and a shrug was the only response to that he could give. Moving to sit on the bolder that the previous mentioned dragon once had played with, he got as comfortable as he could get before tucking a strand of hair behind his pointed ear. “I might be a pet, but I’m also a renter in a way. I’m allowed to stay here as long as I keep my end of the bargin. I didn’t know Gergon hosted other dragons… I haven’t been able to figure out a way to make enough tea for dragon guests yet…”He could only watch this dragon and observe him. His build seemed to be different than that of Gergon’s… more… was lithe the right word for dragons? They were all huge compared to him, but they all had so many differences, in color, shape and temperament. Like humans and elves, they were all individuals with different characteristics to show the individuality. “Odd question, but are there such things as dragon twins? Two dragons from the same nesting that look exactly alike?”He didn’t think it was a rude question, just a rather odd one, and not that it really mattered much to him, he was curious. But he did wonder if he could study this dragon as well, so see if there were different makeups between different breeds and each individual dragon that might cause a problem with healing later. Either that or he could ask Gergon later, as long as this dragon kept him in one piece. He hoped he didn’t have to come right out and say that he was under Gergon’s protection, for that might be a bit rude to say out of nowhere, more so than asking about dragon twins. Mihai Roșu

Apparently the reassurance had been enough, as the man crept out of the house and onto a nearby boulder. Mihai eyed him, taking in his movements, in particular the pointed ear that was revealed when he tucked his hair back. Elven, was it..? But it couldn't be completely. There was still something distinctly human about this man. A half-breed, perhaps? Those were, by all reports, uncommon, and Mihai didn't think he'd ever even seen an elf-human mix before, in spite of how long-lived he was. How interesting…
Mihai decided to mirror the man's actions himself and bent at the knees, letting his heavy body hit the grass. He curled up there, quite content in the sun's rays, his good mood indicated by the slow sway of his tail back and forth. "Oh, he doesn't really," Mihai said, much too casually for being technically an intruder on another dragon's territory. "But it gets awfully lonely being the only long-lived beassst around, I would know… Ssso I figure I'd give him some company." Not that Drabe'druh actually appreciated it, the stingy creature. "But he wasn't in today, he continued, "ssso I was going to look for some fun elsssewhere… I sssuppose you'll do." The way he bared his teeth could almost be thought a smile.
The question that the man followed up with was indeed an odd one, but if anything, he drew his lips back wider. "I wouldn't know. I only had two sssiblings myself, and they perished a few days after hatching–ssso I was told," he said superficially, without much care. As much as the question was an amusing one, it was also rather pointless–one of the least interesting things you could ask about the hypothetical existence of even more dragons. Humanoid creatures certainly enjoyed latching onto small things. "Is there anything else you'd like to asssk to sssate your curiosity?" Probably so. This man struck Mihai as a curious one–making him all the more human in the dragon's eyes–but that was a trait he could appreciate, as long as the questions asked weren't small-minded.

"Is there anything else you'd like to asssk to sssate your curiosity?"Francis was satisfied with the answer of no to dragon twins, but he could only frown. He wasn’t sure how common dragon births really were, but he was sure it hurt to lose a sibling, even if you didn’t know them. It was still the thought of having someone they could be close to and loosing that that hurt. He would move to express something to show he was sorry for that loss, but all he could do now was to hopefully change the subject to something else; something not related to that topic. “Actually... There is. It’s perhaps a bit more strange than the last one, and I really hope this one does not offend. I am a healer of a type… and I was wondering if you knew if there was differences in physiologies between Dragons? Would you let me study you? To learn Dragon anatomy and muscle connections? It wouldn’t hurt of course, I can use my gift to give me the information… it just might be a bit warm.”He really hoped he could study Mihai too, it would be all to the best to study as many as he could, to see if there were differences between dragons in their typing and their build. He could document it all later, for his own library to study. Of course he would protect the information, no one would ever get a hold of it. He so hoped this dragon told him yes. This was fascinating, he loved learning, and learning something else that no one else knew? Honestly, if elves could fly this chance alone would keep him airborne for a while. “If you want to talk about this with Gergon first, I understand. I understand this is a big favor I’m asking, and I would extend my healing services to you in the process too… “
