Plot/Explanation:
Set in the Victorian-era, in London so, late 1800's. Remember that the late-late 1800's was the beginning of the Belle Epoch, and so fashions began to change. There are trains, and other steam-powered and gear-powered machinery. The more complex it is, the more expensive it is.
There could be dirigibles, steam or gear-powered cars, other ways of getting around, other machinery, depending on the inventors and inventiveness of you guys -- just remember, it should be plausible in the verse. Factories may be prevalent - gotta have a semi-efficient way of cutting out and piecing together all the gears and machinery, right?
A class system will include the lower, middle and upper classes. People of the lower class include factory workers, thieves, etc., middle class will include shop owners and the like, upper class will include aristocrats (rich folk).
There will also be a underground fight ring, where people (usually of low-middle status) use Mecha suits to fight and make a name for themselves. The rich folk sponsor favorites and the mechanics gain reputation, if their mechanisms stand out or are sturdy in the ring, thus helping with their business.
The pursuit of status, fame. and fortune will be the main conflict or point to be made in this AU.
