Not again... Not again...!
Lovino panted as he felt his heart thumping wildly in his chest in pure panic, a small bite of raw fish in his mouth as he ran. The human that spotted him had yelled at him, and Lovino couldn't understand why. It was them that just left food out for taking, and every now and then he saw humans coming up and taking an offered bite or two before taking the whole product. The system was confusing for Lovino, the small latte colored kitten that just desperately was trying to reach the security of the bushes he learned to take shelter in. He could still feel his chest tighten, making his eyes grow wide in fear as he dived into the destined bushes just in time for his body to morph once again.
This wasn't the first time his body has done this. Lovino noticed he shifted forms strangely when he was frightened or in panic when emotions rose high as if it was an instinctive protection his body provided. The kitten that dove into the bushes was now a small human boy looking roughly 4~5 years old, naked and curling up in pure fear and panic. Just because it occurred before didn't mean he was any less scared of his own situation; it made no sense to him and nobody was about to explain to him, either. All he figured was that if he waited long enough, he would shift back to his feline form. Sometimes it only took a few minutes, sometimes he had to sleep overnight for the change to occur. The young werecat was unaware exactly how it all worked.
Hugging his legs awkwardly against his chest, Lovino buried his face against his knees and let out a sob. The idea of jumping in and mingling with the humans never occurred to him; if anything, he didn't want anything to do with humans when he felt cold, that without his fur protecting his skin when this strange mutation happened. The boy swallowed down the excuse of a bite of the fish in his mouth and trembled, his stomach nowhere fulfilled, and gave a hesitant peek out between the leaves that secured him from most outside vision.
The sounds that came from him were not something he could get used to, either, when he morphed. Without the knowledge of how to speak actual words humans used, the werecat wept, and the weeping noise itself scared him even more as it was so unnatural to his sensitive ears. Regardless, he didn't know how to stop that, either. All he could do was wait.
And that was exactly what he planned to do, as he heard the angered shopkeeper he stole from let out what sounded similar to growls cats would let out when angry. And he knew that noise, all too well.
