This was it....the time to take a chance and have a little fun outside.
Finally, he would know what it was like to be outside without supervision. At least..for a longer period of time, and not under the eye of his father. It wasn't that he disliked being with his father all the time, but he wanted to experience a little bit of freedom. Besides, it would only be a quick trip...his father would never know.
Shaking in anticipation, the young boy slowly made his way from the house. Dressed like any low class child, in his plain button shirt and brown pants. His boots scoffed, and he was probably in need of a new pair but could not afford it. His long braids were tucked underneath a hat, and he wore a simple maroon jacket and leather gloves. Always, he remembered his gloves. Glancing over his shoulder, he checked to make sure the door was unlocked so he could sneak back in quickly. His father usually didn't check the back door often...so he wouldn't be caught.
I won't be gone long...it'll be quick. Besides, I can take care of myself for a little bit.
That was what Johann had thought initially anyway. But now, as he stood among the people bustling about in the Slums..he wasn't so sure. He could feel his nerves getting to him now, eyes darting about as he took in so many..people. Hands shaking slightly, he began to wrong them in a way to calm himself down. I can't get to excited...don't want to pass out. It usually happened, if his heart began to beat too fast or stressed his body would grow weak and then...he would black out. But, I should be okay for now..I took my medicine before I left.
Shaking his head, Johann quickly made his way towards the areas he thought he would be able to see something of interest. Despite the fact he was full of anxiety, the Austrian was also...happy. It was nice, to not be under someones watchful eye and enjoying the outdoors. Sure, the smell wasn't exactly great, but being cooped up in the house made the boy not really mind.
After what couldn't have been more than a few minutes...the boy began to panic again. "Umm...oh dear.." he murmured.
He was lost...
Johann was lost...by himself. He could probably ask an adult for directions, but the very thought made his heart begin to beat faster in anxiety. "Oh gott....what do I do?" his voice was a whisper, and he was beginning to feel dizzy already. Shaking his head he found a small crate and sat on it. He just needed to rest for moment..
He clutched at his left hand, trying to calm himself. This was a bad idea... He felt his eyes begin to water, but he refused to cry..'I won't cry..I won't cry...ahh..I want Vati' He sniffled and rubbed his eyes, getting rid of the tears.
Who would help him now?
