Chatbox Rules

Please read these immediately, and refer to them often as they may change with new situations.

These are in no way meant to call anyone out - on the contrary, these are meant to protect all of our members and create a space where no one feels unnecessarily out of place.

1: Please remember to only use accounts that are affiliated with you here on Timeless, or have an identifying marker in your profile.
- This will make it easier for new (and some of the old!) members to keep track of who is who.

2: Please keep 1x1 RP offsite. Remember to make any chatbox roleplays non-exclusive. We're all here to have fun.

3: Please keep all (IC) fighting to a minimum. OoC (Mun vs Mun) fighting WILL NOT be tolerated.
- Remember that it must adhere to the site rules. Therefore, no excessive amounts of blood and guts.
- OoC fights aren't tolerated. We don't need the drama, and if it becomes something of an issue, you will be banned.

4: We ask that you keep your own personal views on politics and religion out of the chats. This is, again, to promote a sense of harmony. If you'd like to have a debate, remember that they can always be done offsite.

5: To combine rules 3 and 4, please, please, please respect others' views, beliefs, values, stances, etc etc etc. We're a family. Let's act like it!

6: Remember to keep sexual themes to a minimum, and use allusions/mild innuendo only--no detailed stuff. The chatbox is one of the first things people see when they come to the site. We'd like to leave a good first impression.

7: Heavier themes and all taboo subjects should be approached with a sense of caution. If you're not sure -- ask a mod or another member. When in doubt, however, it's best to err on the side of caution.

8: Remember that the chatbox is an extension of the site. Thus, all site rules apply. Godmoding is therefore not allowed. Please obtain permission from the player before you do anything to their character.

9: Please only play in the IC box if your application has been accepted officially by the mods.

10: Remember that everyone is human, and therefore does make mistakes. If there are any disagreements, please don't hesitate to bring a mod in. We're here to help!

11: We are instituting a new warning system. It is as follows:
- First offense: You'll receive a warning
- Three warnings: You'll receive a temporary ban from the chats.
- Three bans: You'll receive a permanent ban from the chats.
- If you attempt to circumvent this ban, you may find yourself banned from the site. Don't do that.
- You may, however, speak to the mods privately to see if there has been a misunderstanding.

12: If your RP happens to include some 'heavy' material that is not terribly offensive or content that may upset SOME other members, please consider moving to a specific CBox channel, threading it out, or taking it up offsite/out of the public eye if someone expresses moderate discomfort.
- We're adults, and yes this is the internet, so while you do need to keep in mind that you need to take most things with a grain of salt, it's still best to be considerate of others.

Above all, respect one another. Respect the mods. Respect your characters - and those of other people. Remember not to go beyond "PG-13" content, and most importantly, have fun!
