Mattie!muse misses bro times ;u;-- maybe we should thread soon? Canon!verse would probably be easiest to start up since we talked about what sort of relationship they have there already, but I also looked back through posts to see which AUs you're currently in with Al. I'm thinking we should discuss relations (bro, friend, cousin, on good terms, on bad terms, etc.) somewhere n' sometime for Cardverse (where Matthew's Diamond's prince and Francis's brother) and Gakuen (where he rooms with Feliks and studies veterinary).

Canon would be good, yeah--the two of them goofing off or something could be simple enough, idk what, exactly.
Cardverse... I'm not really sure what kind of relationship they would have, tbh. Al was relatively sheltered from the other kingdoms--from his own kingdom, really, for most of his life. He has been King for almost 2 years now, though--I'm sure he and Matt would've met by now. I think they might be on friendly-enough terms, since they both became King not of their own volition, but from extenuating circumstances? I know that plenty of royals in European history are related, having married one another throughout history, so it /could/ be that way for Cardverse as well? Again, though, they'd be distant cousins at best, and still know next to nothing about each other before Al was sent to Diamonds/Matt comes to Spades for them to get to know each other a lil bit.
As for Gakuen... I'm not sure how we want to go about getting these two related. Maybe they're siblings with divorced parents, Al going with one and Matt going with the other? They could be half-brothers, or maybe cousins, or if you want a clean slate, I don't mind these two not being related at all and just meeting each other for the first time. :3 What do you think?

I think having them be brothers with split parents in Gakuen AU would work best, because with half brothers... say Matt was born, parents split then one of them remarried and had Al, the age difference would be bigger, yes? Speaking of that... I think we put both of our characters down as 19, so should we make 'em twins? That would make their being separated all the more cruel, and if their dad was the one to just up and leave with one of them (maybe Mattie?) when they were young, that'd be all the more reason for Al not to like him. Just trying to think how they'd both miraculously be attending the same school, and if they had much contact up 'til now if we'd go with this backstory...
As for Cardverse, distantly related might work. I agree though that they probably wouldn't be familiar with each other at all. I'll check with Silv too to see if this works, since being distantly related to Al would implicate Francis as well.

Well, for the half-bros thing, Papa could've been cheating, too :'D *shotded* But if we want to make them fraternal twins who were separated, that's fine with me--otherwise I can bump Al down a year to 18. :3 I don't mind either way! If we go with the twins route--ooooh, Al would be /so/ upset. xD Either way, I think they'd try to keep /some/ contact-- letters to each other (which upgrade to emails when they get older) at the very least. I bet their parents would let them visit one another once in a while, as kids--visits which grow fewer and fewer in number as they get older because other friends/relatives/school start taking precedence. If we go with them being twins, maybe the college was just closest for the both of them, or they got good scholarships--I don't think it's really a big deal either way that they ended up in the same school.
Again, either way, I don't know if their distant relation will cause much of a stir for the two of them--after all, they probably never even met before Al was crowned, or even heard of each other. They'd focus more on simply being...not enemies that'll go to war with each other? XD

I'm in Cardverse and Gakuen atm, and plotting a few things for other AUs but not currently involved in them ^^ I think you were consulted about a possible relation between Al and Matthew and Francis? *hasn't heard back on that plotting yet so not sure* I mean, it doesn't matter to me one way or the other if they're related or not, but that's one possible thread idea, I think? What do you have in mind?

Well, with cardverse, If Al has been King for a while, he might have ran into Francis before his accident. So that's one idea. What is Al in Gakeun? Francis and Mattie aren't related there, just classmates in one of there science classes. Perhaps Al needs a hair cut and comes to the cosmetology students for a cheaper one? Or we could do a past one with Al and Francis in cannon, perhaps when Al was trying to gain his independence? What you think?

Al's only been king for...2 years, tops. On top of that, he was 7-8 when he had his lightning-accident, sooooo I don't think it'd work to have them meet before the accident? *hums* I don't know if he even knows that Francis was king before Matthew--depends on when Francis went "missing"?
And in Gakuen, Al's a 2nd year. I could see him going to the cosmotology students--not necessarily because it's "cheaper", but moreso he's not that particular on his hair-cut so he'd be more than willing to play dummy for the students xD But he does like to explore at night, too, so they could always just run into each other around campus.

Maybe they're stuck in a writing course or something because Al would avoid the required writing classes as much as possible because ugh, literature I don't know. Let's just make them run into each other, clumsy babies and all xD we'll see what they do from there? |
